چکیده
This is the first survey of bryophyte diversity in mangroves Panama. The study was done Bocas del Toro Province, Panama, September 2016 and, July, May and August 2017. Bryophytes were collected from prop or stilt roots mangroves, mid-lower part trunks lower branches. In areas inundated at high tide, additional samples on cortex palms, its rootlets, other angiosperm trees decomposing logs. Twenty-six species liverworts seven mosses identified. most diverse predominant liverwort family Lejeuneaceae with twenty-two two varieties among mosses, Calymperaceae three species. Species affinities tropical analyzed found to be dominant element. Among collected, are new reports for Panama: Ceratolejeunea confusa Frullanoides mexicana. Additional surveys cryptogamic vegetation Panamanian urgently needed due accelerated deforestation caused by anthropic activities potential loss important biodiversity.

The Impacts of Red Mangrove (rhizophora Mangle) Deforestation on Zooplankton Communities in Bocas Del Toro, Panama
Deforestation impact studies have generally focused on tropical rainforests or temperate coniferous woodlands. However, extensive clear-cutting is currently occurring in a wide-ranging, but far less recognized habitat: the world's mangrove forests. These coastal forests thrive in areas of low wave action and high sediment availability, where mangrove trees develop dense and productive ecosystem...
متن کاملDevelopment of Cerithiopsis getntnulosutn (Gastropoda: Cerithiopsidae) from Bocas del Toro, Panama
•The relationships between the seven families in the Ptenoglossa and the relationships between the Ptenoglossa and other gastropod groups have been based on anatomical features associated with feeding, and on developmental characters. However the embryonic development of several of these families remains undescribed. Here I describe the development of Cerithiopsis gemmulosum from Bocas del Toro...

متن کاملCrepidula badisparsa sp. nov. (Gastropoda: Calyptraeidae) from Bocas Del Toro Province, Panama
—The taxonomy of calyptraeid gastropods is made difficult by their morphologically simple, plastic shells and the numerous instances of morphological convergence within the family. The small speckled species of Crepidula from the West Atlantic have all previously been referred to as C. convexa Say, 1822. Recent developmental and genetic work has shown that there are two species along the coast ...
متن کاملDecadal increase in seagrass biomass and temperature at the CARICOMP site in Bocas del Toro, Panama.
The Caribbean Coastal Marine Productivity Program (CARICOMP) was launched in 1993 to study regional long-term interactions between land and sea, taking standardized measurements of productivity and biomass of mangroves, coral reefs and seagrasses. Since 1999 continuous measurements of seagrass (Thalassia testudinum) parameters as well as environmental data have been recorded in Caribbean Panama...
